The task of remodeling began with the participation in the election process for the purchase of an existing home in an established residential area. The new house was chosen with characteristics of site, orientation, materiality and municipal regulations with appropriate potential to develop the new project.
The existing house had an “L” distribution on the first floor, which was adapted to the entire public program. All bedrooms are located in a new second floor, forming a north-facing bar and Manquehue hill views.
The intervention strategy was the superposition of layers using different materials, clearly distinguishing the first level of the second, thereby enhancing the volume and the different spatial situations that occur when contrasting the two levels.
